For education

Multi Me provides a flexible and personalised platform that allows learners to take ownership of their own goals and achievements, working with teachers, support staff and their Circle of Support

it’s soooo good to have a Initial Assessment category! It helps me structure my thinking, and will hopefully make it crystal clear to all - students, support staff, managers, families - what we are actually working on - the substance of our curriculum, which might have been a bit of a mystery to some before! It also fits in perfectly with the RARPA+P structure. Thanks for sorting it for us.

Students with severe learning difficulties at Abingdon & Witney College embrace new digital technology. Multi Me allows students to upload videos and images, set goals and more importantly...

A self-advocacy, self-development and support networking platform

Multi Me can help learners’ develop communication and self-advocacy skills through using social media. By using a combination of text, pictures, stickers, photos, audio and videos from their mobile device, PC or YouTube, learners can tell their own multimedia stories and communicate with others. Learners can build rich ‘all about me’ profiles using My Wiki, exploring and documenting their personalities and preferences, their life history, present and future aspirations.

Learners can use digital media to blog in their Diary about their learning activities, building a visual record of activity and achievement and sharing this with their Circle. Through this process learners build detailed representations of themselves online - a kind of ‘digital me’.

Tell your story with multimedia

Using My Diary and My Wiki

"Multi Me is a fantastic tool. Our children and young adults are able to share their goals and achievements in a secure environment with their friends, staff and family. Successes relating to the goals can then be shared, via text, photos, videos or files by anyone within the pupil’s circle of support. We have already seen that sharing information in this way increases understanding of our pupil’s abilities and in turn raises aspirations as to what they can achieve in the future”.

John Riches, Headteacher at Bardwell School, Bicester

Multi Me empowers individuals learners through digital media and aims to improve outcomes for them through building capacity for inclusion, citizenship and community. Multi Me can majorly improve learners’ engagement with their learning and thereby their progress and attainment, contributing to a wider positive ethos in schools and educational institutions.

Social media is accessible, its an intuitive way of using technology as a communication tool. multi me builds on this accessibility by introducing graphical interface and safety features for disabled and vulnerable users.

Using My Goals and My Calendar

Plan, track and achieve!

My Goals allows users to set their own goals around things they want to achieve in their lives and break these down into bite-sized Tasks that can be scheduled and assigned to different users in their Circle. The Goals tool has been carefully co-developed with special schools and colleges to accommodate a learner targets.

Get your calendar into shape!

My Calendar allows users to create a visual overview of their weekly events and activities. The Calendar allows users to create their own (Circle) Events or join Group Events. Events can be made to re-occur in a flexible manner so that learners and classes (groups) can create ongoing rotas of activities and lessons.

Portability and Transition

Multi Me is portable. It is designed for effective use by young people and their supporters in their transition from school to further education, training and work.

Learners will be able to continue to use Multi Me when they leave school, college, or enter training or employment. They can also continue to use their Multi Me when they lead their own self-directed support in the community as adults. Multi Me belongs to the individual not the service.

By building networks of support, friendship and sharing media, Multi Me helps learners to start to engage in transition planning from early on, with their peers, families and teaching and support staff.

Multi Me facilitates effective planning. It holds information in Person Centred formats that promote the individual’s strengths and capabilities.

Build your support network

Multi Me shifts the emphasis towards people and citizenship and away from services and dependency and paves the way for personalised support and budgets.

The My Circle tool is a secure social network around an individual supported by thier Buddies. It allows learners to add other users into the categories of Friends, Family or Professionals. Buddies can invite users by email to register for a free account to join a learner’s Circle.

Multi Me allows educational communities to build and manage their own groups of users. It enables the communication, co-operation and joined-up support of the individual involving family, friends, professionals and community circles.

I just wanted to say how amazing it’s been to look back over this academic year through Multi Me and RIX Wiki , that’s something a paper portfolio doesn’t capture...it’s shared with everyone within that person’s life.
Thank you!
